Raptors force Game 7 with wild win in 2OT over Celtics

NOT SO FAST CELTICS! The defending champs are sticking around another game to decide who faces the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals.

This was originally going to be a Celtics victory recap, but the Toronto Raptors had different plans. Sorry if I jinxed the game, Boston. The Raptors by some act of God pulled off a 125-122 win in 2OT to force Game 7 in their second-round series in the NBA bubble in Orlando.

Kyle Lowry hit a CLUTCH jumper to give the Raps a 4-point lead. Jayson Tatum hit a 3 to make things interesting but Norman Powell hit a pair of free throws. After that, the ball was knocked out of bounds after a Marcus Smart 3-point prayer. So we’ve got a Game 7 people!

Lowry stepped up when Toronto needed it most, finishing with 33 points, 8 boards and 6 assists to keep the Raptors’ season alive. Norman Powell hit a huge 3-pointer and had an and-1 late in 2OT to help the Raps extend the lead.

Boston seemed to let another win slip through its fingers in this one. I mean, Marcus Smart had a TRIPLE-DOUBLE! Yes, 23 points, 10 boards and 10 dimes in 50 minutes. Jayson Tatum had 29-14-9 while Jaylen Brown was strong on defense, plus scored 31.

So Game 7 is going to go one of two ways. The first scenario is a Celtics bloodbath. Boston just comes out pissed off after blowing it in Game 6 and Marcus Smart is going to nail 5 treys by halftime. The other scenario is this shit party that we called basketball for nearly 60 minutes on Wednesday night. Toronto plays it tough and we get another nailbiter.

Honestly, it’s what we deserve as fans after enduring this entire series. Not that it’s been a bad series, it’s just been ugly. It reminds me of (BOOMER MOMENT INC) a playoff series from the ‘90s! Where’s Reggie Miller at? Did he ghost write this paragraph? Who knows. What we do know is this will be the series we all remember when we look back at that fateful playoffs in the bubble.

If I had to make an early pick for Game 7 it’s the Celtics. The Raptors were awful down the stretch and I still don’t know how Boston lost that game. The Celts seemed to get easy buckets in OT and still played a hell of game defensively. It’ll be interesting to see what the line is on this game. It could be closer to a pick ‘em, which I think favors the Celtics big time. Toronto really pulled two wins out of nowhere and the Celtics have been the better team overall.
