Playoff update: Kamara’s positive test was on Thursday, which means ten days absence would let him return Sunday, January 10 if he remains asymptomatic.
Friday update: Kamara is officially on the Covid-19 list after getting a confirmation of his first positive test, per Adam Schefter. Latavius Murray will get the start and is worth a fantasy play against the Panthers.
New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara didn’t practice on Friday, as he received a positive COVID-19 test, per Nick Underhill. Kamara is still waiting on the confirmation test, so there is still a chance he had a false positive.
If Kamara does get a confirmation of the initial test, he would be out for 10 days, which would mean he would be out next week if the Saints don’t manage to get the No. 1 seed and the only NFC bye.
If the Saints beat the Panthers this week, they have a shot at the top seed, but would need the Packers to lose to the Bears. A win would also give them the No. 2 seed ahead of Seattle.
Kamara might not be needed for this week, but he would be needed in the first round of the playoffs.
