Update: 10:42 4th quarter

With the Tigers needing a quick score to make this game competitive, Lawrence hit receiver Cornell Powell for his second touchdown of the game. The Tigers need another stop or two, which is easier said than done.

Update: After 3rd quarter

Lawrence and the rest of the Clemson offense looks out of sync and aren’t hitting their shot plays like we saw them do this season. The Tigers need a miracle to comeback as they down 42-21 heading into the last quarter. Lawrence is 19-of-26 for 256 yards and a touchdown.

Update: 7:57 3rd quarter

After a Justin Fields interception inside the red zone to begin the second half, Lawrence marched the Tigers’ offense down and hooked up with wide receiver Cornell Powell for a 10-yard touchdown reception. Clemson is only down 35-21.

Update: Halftime

It was a rather quiet second quarter for Lawrence and the Clemson’s offense as Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields and running Trey Sermon dominated. Lawrence was 3-of-6 for 18 yards in the second quarter. He’ll need a historic second half comeback as the Buckeyes lead 35-14.

Update: After 1st quarter

Trevor Lawrence is 9-of-12 for 134 yards, with his only touchdown coming on the ground. Clemson and Ohio State are tied up at 14-14 after the first quarter.

Update: 12:10 1st quarter

It did not take long for the Clemson Tigers to get on the scoreboard as Trevor Lawrence capped off an eight-play, 82-yard drive with a two-yard rushing touchdown.

In the last College Football Playoff semifinal, the Clemson Tigers will take on the Ohio State Buckeyes in the 2021 Sugar Bowl. Standout quarterback Trevor Lawrence is one of the three finalists for the Heisman Trophy and could help Clemson advance to another College Football Playoff National Championship Game. We’ll be tracking his performance in the Sugar Bowl.

Despite missing two games this season because of COVID-19, Lawrence still put up impressive numbers for the Tigers. He completed 69.2 percent of his passes for 2,753 yards, 22 touchdowns, and four interceptions. The junior quarterback also rushed 211 yards and eight touchdowns.

This game is a re-match of last year’s Fiesta Bowl, a 29-23 win for Clemson that many felt Ohio State lost despite playing the better game.
