Jared Goff will get the start in Green Bay, as John Wolford is out with his neck injury. Blake Bortles will be Goff’s backup.
Taysom Hill didn’t practice Wednesday or Thursday, if he doesn’t go, it should help Drew Brees and Alvin Kamara, as Hill wouldn’t be able to come in and possibly take goal-line snaps away from them.
The Wild Card round brought us strong fantasy games from Josh Allen, Baker Mayfield, Lamar Jackson and Tom Brady, all of which have moved on in the playoffs. We’ll get Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers back this week after their teams were awarded bye weeks in the first round.
The toughest matchups appear to be for Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady, as they face the Rams and Saints’ top-notch defenses. Patrick Mahomes will get the best matchup at home against the Browns, while Josh Allen faces a good Ravens defense, but one that can be beaten.
Lamar Jackson wasn’t successful as a passer against the Titans, which isn’t encouraging, but he did run for 136 yards and a touchdown. That kind of rushing upside always keeps him in the conversation as the top fantasy play.
The way Aaron Rodgers has been playing, it is tough to fade him, but there is no doubt that the Rams have the best defense going right now. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top, but we can’t expect a true upside game from Rodgers.
