In one of three ACC games on Wednesday night, the No. 16-ranked Louisville Cardinals will be traveling to Winston-Salem, NC to play the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. The Cardinals are undefeated in ACC play (3-0) and currently in first place. The Demon Deacons, however, are still searching for their first victory at 0-3 in the ACC.

This game is scheduled to tip off at 8:30 p.m. ET and will be televised on the ACC Network. Louisville enters this midweek conference tilt on a four-game winning streak. Their last loss happened on December 19 against the Wisconsin Badgers. Last week, the Cardinals held on for a 73-71 victory over the Virginia Tech Hokies.

Meanwhile, the Demon Deacons have lost three games in a row, going back to the start of this month. Wake Forest’s last victory happened on New Year’s Eve against Division II Catawba College. In that game, the Deacons won 70-62 and shot 43.1 percent from the field.

So where are sports bettors going as we get closer to game time? Let’s take a look. All odds and info were provided by DraftKings Sportsbook.

Point Spread

Louisville is favored by 7.5 points heading into this ACC matchup. The Cardinals are also receiving 60% of the bets and 84% of the handle.

Is the public right?

There is a lot of action on this game for the Cardinals, which makes complete sense as they are the best team in the ACC currently. Over their four-game winning streak, they won by an average of 9.3 points. But over that same span of time, the Cardinals’ record against the spread is only 2-2.

In regards to the Demon Deacons, they barely escaped against Catawba in their last win in December. Since then, they’ve been outscored by an average of 12 points per game in their last three losses. However, against the spread, they are 2-1 in the midst of their three-game losing skid.

Over/Under

The point total for this Wednesday night contest is set at 135.5. As of now, 82% of the bets and 50% of the handle are siding with the under.

Is the public right?

Looking at the betting splits for this game, there’s a 50/50 split on the over and under. But there’s a lot of action going towards the under, which makes a ton of sense. This season, the point total has went under in four of Louisville’s last six games.

For the game to hit the 135.5 mark, either Louisville or Wake Forest will have to score at least 67 points. The Cardinals have done that two-straight games, while the Demon Deacons have struggled to reach mark in four of their last five games.

Moneyline

The Cardinals have moneyline odds of -360, with the Demon Deacons’ odds coming in at +280. Out of all the moneyline bets placed for this game, Louisville is seeing 94% of the bets and 99% of the handle.

Is the public right?

Yes, the public is right about this. While the point spread pick might be a toss-up, you can’t go wrong with picking the Cardinals. They are playing good basketball right now, averaging 70.3 points per game and shooting 37.7 percent from three-point range in their last three games.
