We take a look at how the public is leaning for the five NBA games on tap for Thursday night.

We’ve got five games in the NBA for Thursday, January 14th. Among those games is a matchup between the Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Heat. The last time these two teams met earlier in the week, the Heat were missing plenty of key players, including Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. Miami will go back out on the court with a similar rotation on Thursday night. The Sixers had a tough time closing out the Heat despite the lack of All-Stars. We’ll see if things change on the first slate post-James Harden trade.

Taking an early look at the splits for Heat-Sixers, we’re seeing people aren’t getting fooled by the lack of talent on Miami. The spread is up to 10.5 points in favor of the Sixers and most of the handle and betting percentages are leaning heavily on the Heat. We’ve seen teams missing key players show up in spots we think they won’t this season.

Perhaps the most eye-opening split for Thursday night is in the Houston Rockets-San Antonio Spurs game. A whomping 99 percent of the handle is on the under at 218.5. That is a pretty insane amount. If you’re looking for a line to back as part of a parlay, the under is a decent place to start.

The two moneylines that are seeing the heaviest amount of action are the Spurs over the Rockets and the Portland Trail Blazers over the Indiana Pacers. This may have something to do with the Pacers just trading Victor Oladipo and the idea that Caris LeVert won’t make his team debut just yet. The amount of handle on Portland on the second of a back-to-back going up against a playoff team is interesting. The game should be close and if it isn’t, expect the Blazers to get the job done.
