Last week, in the Wild Card round, we had to wait until game day to find out which quarterback the Los Angeles Rams were starting. They went with John Wolford against the Seahawks, but he was replaced by Jared Goff after suffering a stinger. This week, we got the answer on Thursday when Sean McVay announced Wolford was out for Saturday’s game against the Packers. That means Jared Goff gets the start. Here’s how that could shake out for fantasy football in the Divisional round.
Fantasy Football analysis: Rams QB Jared Goff, $5,200
Goff practiced in full on Tuesday this week, while Wolford was still out. That gave us a pretty good sign of where things were headed. Working in relief of his backup, Goff completed nine of 19 pass attempts for 155 yards and a touchdown. Goff is already the worst quarterback left standing among the playoff teams, and it was clear last week that his thumb was still a limitation on his accuracy.
The Packers defense is a tough one against quarterbacks too. Only one signal caller has thrown for more than 300 yards against them this season (Deshaun Watson in Week 7), and only two opposing quarterbacks have had multiple touchdown throws in a game versus Green Bay since then.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Goff should be avoided in DFS or any other kind of fantasy league you’re playing.
