What to do with Aaron Jones in the Divisional round of the 2021 NFL playoffs

We go over the fantasy football and DFS outlook of Aaron Jones ahead of the Packers Wild Card matchup against the Rams in the 2021 NFL Playoffs.

Aaron Jones finished the season on a high note, wrapping up his year with 1,104 rushing yards, a new career high. Now, the Green Bay Packers need him to carry that momentum into the postseason this week in a demanding matchup against the Los Angeles Rams and their stifling defense in Saturday’s Divisional round matchup.

Fantasy Football analysis: Packers RB Aaron Jones, $6,800

Jones had 5.5 yards per carry this season. He also produced in the passing game, catching 47 passes for 355 yards and two receiving scores to go with his nine rushing touchdowns. The Packers will have to lean on him this week as a counter measure to pressure on quarterback Aaron Rodgers. And fortunately for Green Bay, Jones is good enough on his own that he’s a threat to the Rams defense.

Last week, Seattle running back Chris Carson rolled up 77 rushing yards on 16 carries against the Rams. Obviously, that wasn’t enough to get them the win, but it’s a good sign that there is at least some room to run against this team.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Jones is a decent play in any fantasy format this week. He’s the second-most expensive player at his position in DraftKings leagues, which, to me, diminishes his overall value just a bit—I just don’t think his ceiling is as high as some of the other, cheaper running backs. That said, he’s going to put up points.
