Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski is looking to bounce back from being a non-factor statistically in their victory during Wild Card weekend. If you’re trying to figure out what to expect from him this weekend in the NFL Playoffs, let’s take a closer look.
Fantasy Football analysis: Bucs TE Rob Gronkowski, $7,500
Gronkowski was utilized quite a bit as a blocker in the Buccaneers’ 31-23 victory over the Washington Football Team on Saturday. He was targeted just one time and recorded zero receptions. Meanwhile, fellow Tampa Bay tight end Cameron Brate caught four of six targets for 80 yards. This was the first time Gronkowski was held without a single reception since Week 2 of this season.
Tampa Bay will be going up against the New Orleans Saints defense on Sunday. In two previous games this season, Gronkowski combined to catch three passes for 13 yards against the Saints. In their last time out, New Orleans allowed three catches for 41 yards with a touchdown to Chicago Bears tight ends Jimmy Graham and Cole Kmet.
Gronkowski has a price tag of $7,500, which is 18th among all the players in this matchup.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Gronkowski should have a decent chance at a bounce-back performance after not recording a single catch against Washington. Given his relatively low price tag, he could be worth a play in daily fantasy. The Buccaneers are three-point underdogs heading into this game, so if your fantasy league rewards players on teams that advance in the playoffs, Gronkowski could be a risky option.
