This season, the New Orleans Saints have done a great job of utilitzing both running backs Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray in their offense. Kamara looked great, while Murray did not get many opportunities, and was subsequently added to the Divisional round injury report. What can we expect on Sunday against the vaunted Bucs’ run defense? Let’s discuss.
Fantasy Football analysis: Saints RBs Alvin Kamara ($7,900), Latavius Murray ($4,300)
Last week against Chicago, Saints star running back Alvin Kamara did not show any signs of rust after not playing in Week 17. The dynamic running back had 99 rushing on 25 carries, along with two receptions for 17 yards. Kamara ended up scoring 19.6 fantasy points, which is a tad bit lower than his season average of 25.2.
Murray did not get many touches last week, but still found a way into the end zone. The veteran running back scored 10 fantasy points, thanks to a touchdown reception. It was the third-straight game that he scored in double-digits. However, he missed two practices this week and is listed as questionable for Sunday.
The Bucs defense is only giving up 80.9 rushing yards per game, which is good for first in the NFL. When these two teams played back in Week 9, Kamara recorded 40 rushing yards on nine carries and a touchdown, which gave him 15.9 fantasy points.
