On Saturday night the No 16 Louisville Cardinals (9-1) head to the sunshine state to take on the 5-6 Miami Hurricanes.

The Cardinals have only suffered one loss on the season and it was to a top-10 Wisconsin unit about a month ago. Since then, they’ve absolutely dominated the vast majority of their opponents, the only close win coming over Virginia Tech. Louisville is led by Carlik Jones, who tops the team in scoring (18 PPG) and assists. He’s not the only one who can get the job done though, with David Johnson holding his own with nearly 14 points each time out as well. Overall, they score 71 points per game and are giving up just 63 each time out. They shoot well, hitting 47% of their field goals.

The Hurricanes are trending in the opposite direction. UM has won just a single ACC game and have lost seven of their last nine games after a solid 3-0 start. Their offense struggles, hitting just 43% of shots and scoring a mere 67 points per game. On defense, they give up about 67 points per game as well. Two of their last three games were decided by two points or less, so there has been some progress made. Still, last time out they lost by 22, so it could be spiraling downhill fast.

The Best Bet

UL isn’t so great that they can bounce back on a Miami team that has shown a tremendous ability to lose conference games by less than one possession: They’re 0-3 in that category this season. Probably a good spot for a second half bet if you’re watching it and seeing the effort on both sides, but we’ll take UM to cover and lose close if forced to choose.

Pick: Miami +4
