Gameday inactives for Browns vs. Chiefs Divisional round matchup

We discuss the gameday inactives for the Browns and Chiefs and their impact in the Divisional round of the 2021 NFL Playoffs.

The Kansas City Chiefs and Cleveland Browns kick off their Divisional Round game at 3:05 p.m. ET on Sunday, and 90 minutes before the game the two teams announced their list of inactives. We had word earlier today that Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire would be incative and that has come to fruition. You can check out the rest of the inactives below.

KansasCity Chiefs

WR Sammy Watkins
RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire
CB Rashad Fenton
LB Willie Gay
OT Martinas Rankin
DE Tim WardDT Khalen Saunders

The impact

The Chiefs will need Darrell Williams and Le’Veon Bell to step up with Edwards-Helaire out. Williams led the way in Week 16 and should probably be the preferred back this week, but Bell could win more work in-game.

No Watkins isn’t preferable, but the Chiefs have made due without him. Mecole Hardman has played better of late and Demarcus Robinson has been solid for the most part.

Willie Gay’s absence hurts their pass defense against Kareem Hunt and Austin Hooper.

Cleveland Browns inactives

WR Marvin Hall
CB Brian Allen
S Jovante Moffatt
T Alex Taylor
WR Alexander Hollins
TE Kyle Markway
DE Joe Jackson

The impact

All four of the Browns players listed as questionable will play, with tackle Jack Conklin being the biggest name. As long as he can perform well with his knee and hamstring ailments, he will help the run game for Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt.
