How the betting lines have moved for Bucs vs. Packers in the NFC Title game

We look at how the betting odds for the NFC Championship game have moved since the Bucs and Packers advanced to the title game.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (12) looks to pass during the 3rd quarter of the Green Bay Packers 32-18 win over the Los Angeles Rams during the NFC divisional playoff game Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis. Milwaukee Journal Sentinel-USA TODAY NETWORK

Oddsmakers work tirelessly to adjust to where the public is betting their money, and odds will fluctuate throughout the week as we get closer and closer to game time. Whether it’s injuries, coaching decisions or simply a large volume of the handle going on a particular side, line movement is a significant part of the sports betting game. Especially in football with games spread so far apart, there can be big swings in the point spread, creating tremendous value for those who got in early or are waiting to get the best possible number.

We look at how the betting lines have moved since the matchup was set for the NFC Championship Game as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers travel to face the Green Bay Packers. All odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.

NFC Championship odds: Bucs vs. Packers

Opening line: Packers -3.5, 51.5
Current line: Same after some movement

There was actually modest movement in the NFC title game point spread. The Packers got out to four points shortly after the line opened, but then settled back at 3.5 — where they sit as of Monday morning.

The injury report is looking relatively clean for both sides coming out of the Divisional round, but we’ll find out more on Wednesday. Barring any unexpected injuries though, we’re left to wait and see where the money potentially moves this line. I suspect we see the Packers getting the edge in point spread betting, but I don’t think it’ll be enough to move this line too far. As for the point total, I think we’ll see a slight lean on the over, but closer to the 53 percent of handle on Rams-Packers than the 79 percent of handle on the Bucs-Saints over.
