The Michigan Wolverines lost their undefeated season, but look to get back on track tonight against the Maryland Terrapins live from Crisler Arena in Ann Arbor.
Michigan (11-1, 6-1 B1G) fell to Minnesota 75-57 last Saturday, another road victim at The Barn as so many have been over the years. But this is still one of the best teams in the nation, maintaining their No. 7 ranking despite the loss. They shoot .514 from the floor, good for 10th in America, and freshman center Hunter Dickinson anchors a defense that blocks 5.3 shots per game. They outrebound opponents by 9.2 per outing, which leads to transition opportunities and easy baskets.
Maryland (8-6, 2-5 B1G) has struggled in one of the toughest leagues in America, despite an upset 66-63 win over Illinois in Champaign in their last D1 game. They lost to Michigan 84-73 at home this season on New Year’s Eve, in a game where they were outrebounded 29-21 and allowed a 127.3 PPP for the road team. Donta Scott was terrific with 19 points on 7-10 from the floor, but he’ll need more help this evening.
