If the Washington Football Team wants to win in Week 17 and come away with the NFC East crown, they will need running backs Antonio Gibson and J.D. McKissic to play a significant role on Sunday night. What can we expect from each running back against a banged-up Eagles’ defense? Let’s break it down below.

Fantasy Football analysis: Washington RBs Antonio Gibson, J.D. McKissic

Unlike previous seasons where the Philadelphia Eagles’ run defense has been stout, this season not been good. The Eagles are giving up 127.3 rushing yards per game and 20 rushing touchdowns, which is great news for the Washington Football Team. Philadelphia is also allowing 17.3 fantasy points per game to opposing running backs.

That being said, both Gibson and McKissic should be featured early and often on Sunday night. Gibson, the rookie running back, returned last week from a toe injury and is listed as questionable.

Against the Carolina Panthers, he had 61 yards on 10 carries, along with three receptions (four targets) for eight yards. Meanwhile, McKissic had his second-straight game with five or more receptions. He racked up eight receptions (10 targets) for 77 yards, a touchdown, and 15 rushing yards. For his efforts, McKissic scored 15.20 fantasy points.

This week, both running backs should have success against an Eagles’ defense that will be missing starters at all three levels.
