As people try and find the best matchups for their daily fantasy lineup, they make look to exploit some defenses that are resting their players for the playoffs, here’s why that could be a good idea in Austin Ekeler’s case.

Fantasy Football analysis: Chargers RB Austin Ekeler

The Kansas City Chiefs have already locked up the first seed in the AFC playoff race, so they could be sitting a ton of their starters this week. Still, Ekeler has struggled in recent weeks for the LA Chargers. Over the last five weeks, he hasn’t scored a single touchdown on the ground and hasn’t eclipsed 96 yards all season.

Though, his highest rushing total in 2020 came against the Chiefs in Week 2 when he ran for 93 yards. He’s also become a target for Justin Herbert out of the backfield, catching a touchdown pass last week and having three or more receptions each week over the last month, so that’s a huge boost in a PPR league.

KC’s defense already gives up a good amount of points to RBs, averaging 24.5 each week, so it could get even worse against a crew of potential backups.
