The Minnesota Vikings’ top two wide receivers have been a gift from the fantasy football gods for most the season. Now, in one last act of cosmic charity, the two get to finish off the season against a pretty miserable Detroit Lions defense. Both Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson are worthy additions to your lineup this week.
Fantasy Football analysis: Vikings WRs Adam Thielen, Justin Jefferson
Thielen was able to take advantage of the attention the Saints defense gave Jefferson last week. He caught eight passes on nine targets for 97 yards and a touchdown. That was his most productive outing since Week 11. Jefferson still finished strong too with six catches on 10 targets for 85 yards.
While Jefferson has gained an edge in targets over the later half of the season, Thielen has an advantage in touchdowns. He’s scored in all but one of his last six games, with seven total touchdowns in that time frame. That gives him 14 on the season.
The last time these two faced the Lions, in Week 9, they combined for just 102 yards. But without Dalvin Cook in the lineup this week, they should see much bigger numbers against a Lions defense that’s seen five receivers with at least 80 yards in the last three games. Detroit has also given up eight touchdowns to opposing receivers in their last three.
