The Northwestern Wildcats will be looking to snap their five-game losing streak when they play the No. 10-ranked Wisconsin Badgers on Wednesday night. The Wildcats are coming into this Big Ten battle with a record of 6-6 and 3-5 in conference play. Last Saturday, Northwestern lost by 23 points to the No. 5-ranked Iowa Hawkeyes. The Wildcats have not won a game since Dec. 26, where they defeated Ohio State 71-70. Over the course of this recent losing streak, Northwestern has lost by an average of 18.4 points per game. This will also be the Wildcats’ seventh-consecutive game against a ranked opponent.
As for the Badgers, they enter this matchup with a record of 11-3 and Big Ten record of 5-2. After getting dismantled by the Michigan Wolverines early last week, the Badgers bounced back with a six-point victory over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Saturday. Wisconsin has now three out of their last five games.

It is going to be tough for the Wildcats to beat a fundamentally-sound Wisconsin Badgers team on Wednesday. Northwestern is reeling with five-straight losses, while Wisconsin has only lost twice in their last five contests (1/12 at Mich., 12/28 vs. MD).
If the Wildcats want to come away with the victory, they need to shoot three-ball better and defend against it. In their last three contests, Northwestern is allowing teams to shoot 40.8 percent from three-point range. And they are only shooting 27.6 percent, which is lower than their regular season average of 36.3 percent.
