The PGA Tour is headed to Southern California this week after a two-week stop in Hawaii. The American Express — formerly known as the Desert Classic and the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic among many other names — tees off Thursday morning on the two courses of PGA West in La Quinta, California.
A year ago, Andrew Landry won the tournament by two strokes over Abraham Ancer. This year, Patrick Cantlay (+1300) enters as the favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook and he’s followed by Patrick Reed (+1500), Tony Finau and Scottie Scheffler (both +1700), and Brooks Kopeka and Sungjae Im (both +2100) and Daniel Berger, Collin Morikawa, and Sungjae Im (all at +1500). The defending champ Landry is +12500 and the runner-up Ancer is +2500.
The tournament gets underway on Thursday with tee times starting at 12:10 p.m. ET. Golf Channel will have live coverage all four days from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. ET. PGA Tour Live will offer streaming coverage of the Thursday and Friday featured groups until 7 p.m. ET.
Below is a full list of tee times for Round 1 of The American Express on Thursday. All times listed are California time, which is three hours earlier than ET. The featured groups on Thursday are the trio of Patrick Reed, Andrew Landry, and Gary Woodland and the trio of Kevin Na, Matthew Wolff, and Tony Finau. That first trio tees off at Hole No. 1 of the Stadium course at 1:40 p.m. ET and the second trio tees off at hole No. 1 of the Stadium course at 1:50 p.m. ET.
