The No. 4 Iowa Hawkeyes have won five straight in the Big Ten, and look to get into a tie for first place in the conference against the Indiana Hoosiers tonight at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City.
Iowa (12-2, 6-1 Big Ten) has Wooden Award favorite Luka Garza as their star, who is currently -1115 to win the Heisman of college basketball. The versatile big man averages 26.9 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game, and keys a versatile offense that relies on ball movement: the Hawkeyes average 21.4 assists per game to lead all of college basketball. They’re also No. 1 in offensive efficiency at 124.9 points per 100 possessions.
Indiana (8-6, 3-4 Big Ten) is led by Trayce Jackson-Davis, who might be the second-best player in the league behind Garza. But the Hoosiers shoot just 32.4 from three-point range, and average just 68.3 possessions per game, one of the slower paces in the Big Ten. There are plenty of opportunities to get Top 25 wins in the Big Ten, but IU has yet to find one, and they’ll need to add some quality victories if they’re going to get in postseason consideration.
