On Saturday night the 9-6 Mississippi State Bulldogs head over to Tuscaloosa to try and knock off the SEC leaders, the 12-3 No. 18 Alabama Crimson Tide.
‘Bama has been humming so far this season and have yet to lose an SEC game. Their offense is powering along, scoring over 80 points per game on average. In three of their last five games, they’ve scored 90 or more and even eclipsed the century mark their last time out on the floor. The Tide is led by a well-rounded offensive attack that sees four players average double-digit point totals each game, topped by John Petty Jr. who scores nearly 15 a game. They also have three players averaging five or more boards each night. KenPom has them currently ranked as the 11th best team in the country and the best in the SEC.
Mississippi State’s offense averages about 10 points less per game than Alabama’s does and their defense gives up about three points less to their opponents, though they do have a couple of individual players, like Iverson Molinar, that can take over any game they play. KenPom has the Bulldogs currently as the 78th best team in the nation, and gives them just a 13% chance to come out of Alabama with a win.

The Best Bet
This Bulldogs team is so inconsistent they’re really tough to handicap. But they tend to get more stops at home. This is probably a second half bet game for sure, but MSU will try and grind it out as best they can by keeping the pace down (319th in tempo, Bama 11th).
Pick: Under 149
