How public is betting and DFS considerations for Marina Rodriguez and Amanda Ribas

In a women’s strawweight bout on the main card for UFC 257, Marina Rodriguez will take on Amanda Ribas Saturday live from UFC Fight Island and available on ESPN+ PPV.

The 33-year-old Rodriguez enters this contest as the underdog and a professional fighting record of 12-1-2. She is also ranked eighth in the women’s strawweight rankings. Rodriguez last fought in July at UFC on ESPN 14, where she lost by a split decision to Carla Esparza.

The Brazilian mixed martial artist averages 5.04 strikes per minute with an accuracy of 50 percent. But she doesn’t take a lot of damage in return, absorbing 3.31 strikes per minute, while defending them at 52 percent.

Meanwhile, Ribas walks into the octagon as the overwhelming favorite. She has professional fighting record of 10-1 and is ranked ninth in the women’s strawweight rankings. The 5-foot-3 fighter last fought in July at UFC 251, where she put an end to Paige VanZant’s UFC career with a Round 1 submission victory.

This will make her fifth-ever UFC fight on Saturday night. Before joining the UFC in 2019, Ribas competed at Max Fight, Jungle Fight, and Pentagon Combat. In her short UFC stint, Ribas has landed 4.71 significant strikes per minute at a 44 percent success rate. She also doesn’t take a lot of strikes in return, absorbing 1.7 strikes per minute, with a defense rate of 74 percent.

Lastly, she is the better grappler, averaging 2.02 takedowns per 15 minutes. Ribas’ takedown accuracy is 50 percent, while her takedown defense is 85 percent. And she possess a 1.61 submission average per 15 minute.
