In one of seven games on the NBA schedule for Saturday night, the Utah Jazz (11-4) will be trying to win their seventh-consecutive game when they play the Golden State Warriors (8-7).
The Warriors saw their short two-game winning streak snapped on Thursday by the New York Knicks. Golden State lost 119-104 to the New York, despite Stephen Curry scoring a game-high 30 points. Curry was one of only three Warriors players to reach double-figures on Thursday night.
However, Golden State’s defense was less than stellar as they allowed all five Knicks starters to reach double-digit points. Second-year guard RJ Barrett led the way with 28 points on a productive 10-of-17 shooting from the field and 2-of-3 shooting from three-point range. The Warriors also allowed the Knicks to shoot 46.3 percent from the field and 45.8 percent from three-point range.
The Jazz are coming into Saturday night’s game off of a two-game sweep over the New Orleans Pelicans. In their 11-point victory on Thursday night, Utah once again got a major performance from Donovan Mitchell. Mitchell record a game-high 36 points (11-19 FG, 6-8 3pt), seven rebounds, and five assists. The Jazz had five players in double-figures and shot 43.6 percent from three-point range.
What can we expect from these two teams on Saturday night? And can Curry and Co. snap the Jazz’s six-game winning streak? To answer those questions and more, here is our pick against the spread and a player prop you need to watch out for.
Golden State Warriors vs. Utah Jazz, 9:00 p.m. ET
Pick ATS: Jazz -7
The Jazz has been one of the hottest basketball teams in the NBA over the last two weeks. Not only have the won six-straight games, they are also a perfect 7-0 against the spread, making a lot of bettors some money. The line for Saturday night’s game is set at seven points, with the Jazz being favored at home.
In their last three games, the Jazz has defeated their opponents by an average of 10.3 points. Furthermore, Utah has won four of their last five games by double-digits. As for the Warriors, they are 2-3 against the spread in their last five outings. One of those wins came against the Lakers, where they roared back from a double-digit deficit. Golden State has not been great on the road ATS with a record of 2-4.
Player Prop: Bojan Bogdanovic O2.5 3-pointers made (+100)
This prop bet has been on point over the Jazz’s six-game winning streak and is back at plus money. Bogdanovic struggled from the three-point line on Thursday night, shooting 1-of-5 from behind the arc. However, in the previous four games, the veteran marksman was averaging 3.8 three-pointers made out of 7.8 attempts.
This season, he’s shooting 37.8 percent from distance and has gone over 2.5 made in eight games. On Saturday night, he’ll be facing a Warriors team that is allowing opponents to shoot 36.6 percent from distance, but only 27.9 percent in their last three games.
