What to do with Aaron Jones in the NFC Championship

We go over the fantasy football and DFS outlook of Aaron Jones ahead of the Packers matchup up against the Bucs in the NFC Championship.

Aaron Jones was a critical part of the Green Bay game plan last week, helping to keep the Rams’ pass rush honest. And if you had him in your fantasy lineup, he did not disappoint with 99 rushing yards on 14 carries, a touchdown, and another 14 yards on on catch. This week he has a much harder matchup as the Packers take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and their No. 1 rushing defense.

Fantasy Football analysis: Packers RB Aaron Jones, $6,500

Jones picked up 60 of his 99 yards last week on a single run in the third quarter. Another important number that his overall line conceals is that he only saw about 60 percent of the team’s total offensive snaps, splitting backfield duties with Jamaal Williams and A.J. Dillion.

The Bucs have given up just one rushing touchdown to opposing running backs since Week 14, and that happened in the Wild Card game against Washington. Last week in their Divisional round win over the Saints, they let Alvin Kamara run for 85 yards on 18 carries.

Jones always has a role to play in the Packers offense, but if he can’t find the end zone, it drags down his fantasy scoring.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Jones isn’t a bad start in most fantasy formats. I don’t like him as much in DraftKings league’s because he’s the most expensive running back available this week, in a matchup that’s not in his favor.
