Last week was a tough one for Chris Godwin. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver finished the game against New Orleans with just 34 yards on four catches. The Bucs have another difficult matchup in Sunday’s NFC Championship game, taking on the Green Bay Packers and a pass defense that’s been one of the league’s best down the stretch.
Fantasy Football analysis: Bucs WR Chris Godwin, $5,400
Despite the sagging numbers, Godwin was still targeted a team-high seven times in that game last week. If you wind the clock to the Wild Card round and before that, you’ll see that Godwin had been on a pretty productive run. He had 79 yards and a touchdown against Washington in the opening round. And prior to last week, he had scored five times over a four-game stretch.
Green Bay’s pass defense had the second-best coverage grade of any unit since Week 13, according to PFF. However, Mike Evans is going to draw a lot of attention from the secondary. And with Godwin’s established connection with Brady, he has the best chance of producing out of any receiver in Tampa’s lineup.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Godwin’s a bargain in DraftKings leagues this week, and I wouldn’t hesitate to get him in my lineup.
