UPDATE: The Super Bowl is in fact officially settled. The Chiefs had no trouble in the second half against the Bills and will travel to face the Bucs in Tampa. Here’s a look at line movement in the first 12 hours.
The matchup for Super Bowl is all but settled. The AFC Championship Game is midway through the fourth quarter, but the Kansas City Chiefs look like they will finish off the Buffalo Bills in short order. Barring a dramatic collapse, the Chiefs will advance to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl 55.
Here’s a look at the opening odds of this matchup between the Chiefs and Bucs in Super Bowl 55, taking place in Tampa Bay, Florida. Here are full DraftKings Sportsbook odds.
Chiefs vs. Buccaneers
Point spread: Chiefs -3.5 (-106), Bucs +3.5 (-115)
Point total: 57.5 (-110 on both sides)
Moneyline: Chiefs -175, Bucs +140
The Bills hung around early on against the Chiefs and there was some thought the line would open at under a field goal. However, the Chiefs pulled away in the second half and their offense was looking like it was back on track after some hiccups last week against the Browns.
Kansas City will face a Bucs defense that was impressive against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. Tampa sacked Rodgers five times and left his receivers flustered. If Tampa can get Antoine Winfield back for the game, that coupled with Vita Vea’s return puts the unit in great shape. The matchup of Todd Bowles and Eric Bieniemy will be a fascinating one and will likely decide the outcome of Super Bowl 55.
