The first installment of a two-game series between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors will begin on Monday. The Timberwolves are unlikely to have both stars in the lineup. D’Angelo Russell is dealing with a quad injury and isn’t looking like he’s ready to return. Karl-Anthony Towns is still in quarantine after testing positive for Covid-19.

The Timberwolves have lost by double-digits in three of their last five games and have looked like one of the worst NBA teams without Karl-Antony Towns and several other key players. The Warriors haven’t been the model of consistency but have an elite scorer in Steph Curry that no member of the Timberwolves’ frontcourt can hope to slow down. Andrew Wiggins has proved to be a rapidly improving defensive wing, and James Wiseman’s reach will make things tough on Minnesota’s undersized bigs in the post alongside Draymond Green.
