The Saint Louis Billikens are finally set to return to the court after more than a month between games. They enter Tuesday night’s game against the Dayton Flyers ranked No. 22 in the country.
Saint Louis (7-1, 0-0 A-10) hasn’t played in a game since December 23, a 62-46 home win over UMKC due to a COVID-19 outbreak inside the program. SLU checks in at No. 34 in the latest KenPom ratings, though it remains to be seen how the team will look with such a long time off. Javonte Perkins is averaging 17.8 points per game to lead the team, and guard Jordan Goodwin put up 16.9 points and 11.1 rebounds per game with 3.8 assists and 2.1 steals.
Dayton (8-4, 4-3 A-10) had their three-game winning streak snapped on Saturday when they were defeated fairly easily by the VCU Rams 66-43. Senior guard Jalen Crutcher is leading the Flyers with 18.3 points and 4.4 assists per game. He is also averaging 3.8 rebounds per matchup. Dayton ranks No. 85 in the latest KenPom ratings and 154th in adjusted defensive efficiency as well as No. 118 on the offensive end.

The Best Bet
It’s impossible to know how Saint Louis will look with such a long time off. It helps that this is a home game, but it’s reasonable to assume the Billikens will be rusty in their return. Meanwhile, Dayton has played a relatively normal schedule and appears to have found a groove winning three in a row until Saturday’s loss to VCU. With this much time away, it’s tough to think a team will win a conference game by double digits. Let’s go with the Flyers to cover the spread.
Pick: Dayton +9.5
