Pick against the spread, best player prop for Wizards vs. Rockets on Tuesday

We go over some of the best betting options for Tuesday’s matchup between the Washington Wizards and Houston Rockets.

In the second game on Tuesday night, the Washington Wizards will be taking on the Houston Rockets at 8:00 p.m. ET. This game is also better known as the John Wall revenge game as he was traded from the Wizards to the Rockets last month for Russell Westbrook.

The Wizards (3-9) are only playing their second game in 15 days as they’ve had multiple postponements because of COVID-19. On Sunday night, the undermanned Wizards lost 121-101 to the San Antonio Spurs. In that game, Bradley Beal scored a game-high 31 points, to go with seven rebounds and four assists. Beal was one of four Wizards players that scored in double figures. Russell Westbrook was not among the four players as he had a stat line consisting of nine points, eight rebounds, and six assists.

Meanwhile, the Rockets (6-9) have won two-straight games, but have lost three consecutive games at home. In a second game of a back-to-back, Houston defeated the Dallas Mavericks 133-108 on Saturday night. Houston did not have Christian Wood or Victor Oladipo because of injury. But they still received solid performances from Eric Gordon and DeMarcus Cousins. Eric Gordon scored a game-high of 33 points, while Cousins pitched in with a double-double consisting of 28 points and 17 rebounds.

What can we expect from these two teams in the John Wall revenge game? And can the Rockets snap their three-game home losing streak? To answer those questions and more, here is our pick against the spread and a player prop you need to watch out for.

Washington Wizards vs. Houston Rockets, 8:00 p.m. ET, NBA League Pass

Pick ATS: Rockets -3.5

The Wizards will likely be down multiple players on Tuesday night against the Rockets due to health and safety protocols. Therefore, they will be looking for other players to step up to help out Beal and Westbrook. Speaking of Westbrook, he’s among that group, who needs to shoulder more of the offensive workload. The stat line that he had on Sunday night will not cut it against a Rockets team that should have Oladipo back.

Christian Wood’s availability for tonight’s game is up in the air, but even if he doesn't play, Cousins could be in store for another huge game. On Sunday night, the Wizards started Robin Lopez at center and do not have much frontcourt depth. This season, the Rockets have a record of 2-5 against the spread at home, while the Wizards’ record road ATS is 4-2. But with the Wizards having a long layoff and missing a lot of playoffs, I like the healthier team in the Rockets to cover.

Player Prop: Bradley Beal O 5.5 rebounds (+110)

With the Wizards missing numerous players, especially in the frontcourt, they need all hands on deck dealing with Cousins and P.J. Tucker. This season, Beal is averaging 5.5 rebounds per game, which is where his prop bet is set for Tuesday night. However, he’s gone over it in five games, including three out of his last four games.
