The Big 12 has proven to be a powerhouse conference when it comes to men’s basketball this year and one of the worst teams in its ranks will take on another that’s arguably the best team in the country on Wednesday as the Kansas State Wildcats are set to face off against the No. 2 Baylor Bears.

Baylor (14-0, 7-0 Big 12) is perfect so far behind the dynamic duo backcourt of MaCio Teague and Jared Butler. The two combine for 31.7 points per game, and Davion Mitchell’s 5.9 assists gives them another option when distributing the ball. The Bears are the No. 3 team in America by offensive efficiency, and No. 1 defensively.

K-State (5-11, 1-7 Big 12) is a very bad basketball team, and playing in the best conference in the country makes it look even worse. They’re dead last in conference play in eFG, eFG allowed, and three-point shooting. That’s a recipe for the basement, and they’ll need Dajuan Gordon and Mike McGuirl to just be better to have any chance of making this a game at the end. Their 69-47 loss to West Virginia last time out didn’t inspire much confidence.

The Best Bet

There’s not much value in betting on a major favorite like Baylor on the moneyline, but there is a chance its blowout victory won’t be by a ridiculous margin. The Bears are clearly the better team but have beaten unranked schools by less than 20 points on multiple occasions this year.

Pick: Kansas State +23.5
