Pick against the spread, best player prop for Mavericks vs. Jazz on Friday

We go over some of the best betting options for Friday’s Mavericks vs. Jazz matchup.

In the final game to tip-off at 10:00 p.m. ET on Friday, the Dallas Mavericks will play the Utah Jazz for the second time in three days. The game will air on ESPN.

These two teams just played each other on Wednesday, where the Jazz defeated the Mavericks 116-104. Dallas (8-10) has now lost three-straight games. In that game, Luka Doncic did his best to keep the Cavs in it as he scored a team-high 30 points (13-24 FG, 2-7 3pt) to go with six assists and four rebounds. He was one of three Mavericks players to score in double figures. As a team, Dallas shot 46.2 percent from the field and 34.3 percent from three-point range. But unlike the Jazz, who got to the free throw line 21 times, the Mavs only got there nine teams.

Meanwhile, the Jazz (14-4) have won 10 straight games and are also a perfect 10-0 against the spread. On Wednesday night, the Jazz did not have Donovan Mitchell, who was out with a concussion, but they still got the job done. All-star center Rudy Gobert dominated the Mavs’ frontcourt with 29 points and 20 rebounds. Then off the bench, Jordan Clarkson contributed 31 points (11-21 FG, 4-11 3pt) and seven rebounds in 33 minutes. Clarkson has established himself as the one the best sixth men in the league and is a leading candidate for the award.

What can we expect from these two teams on Friday night? And can the Mavericks snap the Jazz’s winning streak? To answer those questions and more, here is our pick against the spread and a player prop you need to think about playing.

Mavericks vs. Jazz, 10 p.m. ET, ESPN

Pick ATS: Jazz -4

The line for Friday night’s game is currently set at four points, with the Jazz being favored once again at home. The Jazz will go into Friday night’s contest without Mitchell, who has been ruled out with a concussion. Utah has been the hottest team in the NBA and against the spread with a perfect record of 10-0. However, that eventually has to come to an end one of these days.

This season, when the Mavericks has played the same team twice, they have a record of 2-5. Coincidentally, Dallas also has a record of 2-5 against the spread. For the Mavs to change their fortunes on Friday night, they need to get to the free throw line (nine attempts on Wednesday) and try to limit Clarkson under 20 points. If they do both of those things, then I like your changes to snap the Jazz’s winning streak.
