The Arizona Cardinals backfield situation is a bit uncertain as we look ahead to Week 17. Whether you’re a fantasy owner of running backs Kenyan Drake and/or Chase Edmonds, here’s an overview of the position.

Fantasy Football analysis: Cardinals RBs Kenyan Drake, Chase Edmonds

Edmonds went into last week’s game with knee and ankle injuries and left the game with an injured hip. He is listed as questionable and should be a game-time decision. Though Edmonds missed most of last week’s game against the San Francisco 49ers, Drake carried the ball 18 times for just 45 yards.

Arizona has plenty of motivation for this game as the Cardinals will clinch a playoff spot with a victory. However, the Rams have the exact same scenario, so there will be plenty of reasons for both to play hard. Los Angeles ranks third in terms of rushing yards allowed this season.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Drake can be used as a high-end running back No. 3, while Edmonds is nothing better than a fourth running back for fantasy purposes. Drake would get an even bigger boost if Edmonds is unable to go, creeping into the No. 2 running back category.
