What to do with Dan Arnold in Week 17 of the fantasy football playoffs

We go over the fantasy football outlook of Dan Arnold ahead of the Cardinals Week 17 matchup against the Rams.

Every week is a bad week to be looking for a tight end to plug into your roster, unless you have one of the very few consistent options out there (or are willing to spend big for one of them in DFS.) But this really isn’t bad week to take a flyer on Arizona Cardinals tight end Dan Arnold, with his team in a must-win game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

Fantasy Football analysis: Cardinals TE Dan Arnold

Arnold caught three passes on five targets last week in a loss to the 49ers, coming away with just 25 yards. The week before that, he had 54 yards on the same number of catches and targets. And over the course of two games in Weeks 13 and 14 he had a total of 88 yards and three touchdowns. So the guy can produce; he’s just not always a regular performer in the stats department.

The Rams defense has given up a few big games to tight ends this season. Last week, Seattle spread 49 yards and a touchdown between three players at the position. The week before that, Jets tight end Chris Herndon came to life for 48 yards. But the one to note here is Arnold’s performance against the Rams back in Week 13 when he had 61 yards on two catches and a pair of touchdowns.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Arnold is a decent streaming option at tight end this week, because of his upside here. And at $3,100 in DraftKings leagues, he’s not going to eat up a lot of budget.
