What to do with Drew Sample in Week 17 of the fantasy football playoffs

We go over the fantasy football outlook of Drew Sample ahead of the Bengals Week 17 matchup against the Ravens.

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Drew Sample pulled off an NFL first last week. The second-year player caught an eight-yard pass for his first ever professional football touchdown. Unfortunately for his fantasy football outlook, that was the only meaningful bit of production he’s put together in quite some time. He’s a fringe starter, at best, this week when the Bengals take on the Baltimore Ravens to close out the regular season.

Fantasy Football analysis: Bengals TE Drew Sample

Sample’s touchdown grab last week was his only catch of the game. That made it two in a row where he’s caught just one pass. The week before that, Week 14, he had just 21 yards on three grabs. It’s a notable downward trend in his usage patterns.

The Ravens haven’t given up a touchdown to an opposing tight end since Week 11. And while a number of players have managed to post decent yardage totals against Baltimore, Sample’s role in the offense lately drags down his fantasy value.
