What to do with Jonnu Smith in Week 17 of the fantasy football playoffs

We go over the fantasy football outlook of Jonnu Smith ahead of the Titans Week 17 matchup against the Texans.

If you happen to be in need of a solid fantasy football tight end play to close out the NFL regular season, you could do a lot worse than adding Jonnu Smith of the Tennessee Titans to your lineup. His team is playing to win the division title this weekend, on the road against the Houston Texans.

Fantasy Football analysis: Titans TE Jonnu Smith

Smith had the honor of catching the lone touchdown pass thrown by quarterback Ryan Tannehill in a tough game last week against the Packers at snowy Lambeau Field. That was his eighth touchdown of the season and his first since Week 11. He also had 30 yards on three catches, targeted seven times.

Smith has had up and down weeks throughout the season, but he does have 12 targets in his last two games. The Texans aren’t great against tight ends, giving up an average of 53 yards per game to opposing position groups. Interestingly enough, Houston gave up 113 yards and a touchdown to a tight end the last time they played the Titans, back in Week 6, but it was Anthony Firsker and not Smith. However, Firsker hasn’t had a big role in the offense since then, and he’s seen just four targets in his last three games.
