After tremendous back-to-back performances against the New Orleans Saints and Arizona Cardinals, Philadelphia Eagles rookie quarterback Jalen Hurts came back down to earth in Week 16 against the Dallas Cowboys. Can he and the Eagles’ offense rebound to wrap up the regular season? Let’s discuss it below.

Fantasy Football analysis: Eagles QB Jalen Hurts

Last week was not a great game for Hurts or the entire Eagles team as they got outplayed and dominated on both sides of the ball. However, it didn’t start out that way as Hurts set the tone immediately.

In the first quarter, Hurts almost had a phenomenal rushing touchdown but it was called back because he stepped out of bounds. The Eagles ultimately got a rushing touchdown from second-year running back Miles Sanders. Then in the second quarter, Hurts found veteran wide receiver DeSean Jackson for an 81-yard receiving touchdown.

But that was all the good for the rookie signal-caller as he struggled the rest of the way. Hurts completed 21-of-39 passes for 342 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions. He was also sacked three times and had two fumbles. Despite those turnovers, the rookie quarterback still produced 18.5 fantasy points.

On Sunday, Hurts will be going up against a Washington Football Team defense that is only allowing 15.8 points per game to opposing quarterbacks this season. Furthermore, they boasts one of the best defensive lines in football, which has recorded 43 sacks.
