Game day update: Cam Akers is expected to “try to play” on Sunday, per Adam Schefter. This creates a whole lot of uncertainty around the Rams ground game for a potential must-win against the Cardinals. You might be best suited avoided the Rams backfield entirely.

With Darrell Henderson Jr. on injured reserve and rookie Cam Akers listed as a game-time decision, Malcolm Brown could be RB1 for the Los Angeles Rams in a must-win game on Sunday.

Fantasy Football analysis: Rams RB Malcolm Brown

Last week against the Seattle Seahawks, Brown was the team’s second-leading rusher with 27 yards on seven carries, behind Darrell Henderson. Now without Henderson, Brown will likely see an increase in carries on Sunday.

Heading into Week 17, the 27-year-old running back has 399 yards on 98 carries and five touchdowns. Brown’s best performance this season happened in Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys, where he had 79 yards on 18 carries and two touchdowns.

Since then, the veteran running back has only rushed for 50 yards once this season and received at least 10 carries a game four times. On Sunday, Brown will be going up against an Arizona defense that is allowing 126.5 rushing yards per game and 13 touchdowns this season.
