The Detroit Lions offense wasn’t able to get much going last week against the Buccaneers, thanks in large part to losing quarterback Matthew Stafford after just three pass attempts. With Chase Daniels taking over and dinking and dunking the rest of the day, Danny Amendola led the wide receivers with five catches on seven targets, rolling up a grand total of 37 yards. Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu had 41 yards combined. So, is the outlook any better this week?
Fantasy Football analysis: Lions WRs Marvin Jones, Danny Amendola, Mohamed Sanu
Jones’ 19 yards was a huge letdown after he exploded for 112 yards and a touchdown the week before. The key here is Stafford’s availability. It looks like the quarterback will try to play through his injury this week, which buoys Jones’ outlook a little bit. Amendola has some appeal if Chase Daniels is under center—and he might well be at some point with Stafford obviously still hurting. Sanu has no fantasy value.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
With Stafford playing, Jones is an acceptable option for a WR3. Amendola has some limited value, given the uncertainty at quarterback, as a Flex option.
