Minnesota Vikings tight end Irv Smith had a big game last week against the New Orleans Saints. Targeted nine times, getting as many looks as the team’s top two receivers, he caught six of them for 53 yards and two touchdowns. He’s got a great matchup this week when his team takes on the Detroit Lions.

Fantasy Football analysis: Vikings TE Irv Smith Jr.

That was a season-high in both targets and catches for Smith last week. Kyle Rudolph was out of action in that one, so he didn’t have to share the workload either. Rudolph is going to miss this week’s game as well, setting up another big day for Smith.

Smith score twice in another game this season too. Yep, you guessed it, he did it against the Lions. That was back in Week 9. He did have just two catches for 10 yards in that one, splitting work with Rudolph.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

At $3,900 he’s a great pickup in DraftKings leagues this week. And he’s a worth TE1 in any fantasy format.
