How to handle Le’Veon Bell injuries in Week 17 fantasy football

Le’Veon Bell is on the Chiefs final injury report for Week 17. We break down what it means for fantasy football roster decisions.

Game day update: Bell is expected to be active, but will not get much work, per Ian Rapoport. Darwin Thompson is expected to get the bulk of the workload.

The Kansas City Chiefs are going to look a lot different this week. With the AFC’s top seed locked up and a first-round bye guaranteed, the team is resting many of its key starters. What their backfield looks like this week depends on the status of Le’Veon Bell. The veteran running back is listed as questionable on this week’s injury report with a knee issue.

After sitting out practice on Wednesday and Thursday, Bell was able to get in a limited session on Friday. We might have to wait until closer to Kansas City’s late afternoon kickoff to know for sure if he’ll play.

If he does play, Bell’s a solid start in fantasy this week. With so many of their offensive skill players resting, the Chiefs offense won’t have choice but to hand it off and grind out the clock on their way to a week off. If Bell can’t go, Darrell Williams is the next man up.
