Game status: Gibson is ACTIVE for Week 17.
Game day update: Gibson is “preparing to play,” per Ian Rapoport. We’ll likely need to wait for pre-game warmups, but this bodes well if you need to roll the dice on SNF.
The Washington Football Team is headed into a must-win Sunday night matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles with running back Antonio Gibson’s status up in the air. He is officially listed as questionable on this week’s injury report, dealing with the same toe injury that’s been bothering him for a while now. However, there are positive signs that he will suit up for the regular season finale.
Fantasy impact: Antonio Gibson (toe)
Gibson missed Week 14 and 15 with the injury, but he was able to play last week. He did not practice this week. That was partly done to give him some rest, and with the team practicing indoors to end the week, head coach Ron Rivera didn’t want him practicing on turf given his injury.
J.D. McKissic filled in admirably while Gibson was out. With the later active, McKissic’s workload in the run game will decrease, but he’s got a big enough role as a pass catcher to make him valuable in fantasy.
