What to do with Travis Kelce in Week 17 of the fantasy football playoffs

We go over the fantasy football outlook of Travis Kelce ahead of the Chiefs Week 17 matchup against the Chargers.

Game status: Kelce isn’t in uniform as the Chiefs warm up, per Adam Teicher.

Game status: Travis Kelce is ACTIVE for Week 17.

The Kansas City Chiefs have locked up the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoff bracket, and they are resting a host of players in their Week 17 regular season finale. Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill and Sammy Watkins are all sitting, and reports have Darwin Thompson getting the workload ahead of Le’Veon Bell.

It is possible we can add Travis Kelce to the mix. Kelce is a “candidate to be rested” on Sunday, according to AP reporter Dave Skretta. It’s worth noting the only place this information is showing up is CBS Sports. It makes sense to rest him given where things stand, but Andy Reid did not confirm this information.

Normally Kelce is a must-start in all fantasy formats. However, with some uncertainty, it might be worth passing on him. It’s an easier call in DFS competition, but in traditional leagues, it could burn you. It all comes down to the kind of risk you’re willing to take in a potential championship Sunday.
