Unranked Michigan State is set to face No. 13 Ohio State on the road this Sunday in a Big 10 men’s basketball matchup. Ohio State is one of the top teams in the conference and is riding a two-game winning streak, while Michigan State is toward the bottom of the pack and is hoping to end a two-game losing streak.

The Spartans (8-5, 2-5) have struggled in conference play. Junior forward Aaron Henry has stepped in as their leading scorer, assist man, and shot blocker following the departure of several key upperclassmen after last season. Ohio State doesn’t have much star power but is a much more solid, all-around team.

The Buckeyes (13-4, 7-4) have recently beaten two ranked conference teams — No. 19 Illinois and No. 14 Wisconsin — but have yet to face the Spartans this season. E.J. Lidell leads Ohio State in points, rebounds, and blocks per game. The battle between him and Henry should be fun to watch. Michigan State is in for a real test.

Point Spread, Totals, Odds, Trends

Point spread: Ohio State -7
Point total: 143
Money line: Michigan State +230, Ohio State -295

  • Michigan State is 1-9 ATS in their last 10 games, and the under has won in four of the last five.
  • Ohio State is 6-4 ATS in their last 10, with the over winning in five of the last six.

The Best Bet

The Buckeyes have had their fair share of close games but the Spartans are fresh off a 30-point loss to Rutgers. While Michigan State split its regular-season series with Rutgers, Ohio State has topped the Scarlet Knights by double-digits twice this year. Going on the road after a tough loss will make bouncing back difficult for the visitors.

Pick: Ohio State -7.5
