D/ST rankings for Wild Card fantasy football

We take you through some of the best D/STs going in the Wild Card round.

Picking a D/ST in the playoffs isn’t easy. These teams have shown they can put up at least enough points to have winning records (sorry Washington) and the playoffs are just another animal, that can be more difficult to predict. I’ve chosen the Steelers as the top D/ST despite them playing poorly, especially for them, of late.

Going with the Rams and Steelers as my Top-2 plays is all about talent and ability. Aaron Donald and T.J. Watt are difference makers and the playoffs are when those kinds of players shine.

The Seahawks are more about opponent, as the Rams will likely have John Wolford in there again this week. He was okay against the Cardinals, but he couldn’t move the ball well enough to worry about him beating up on your D/ST, while the Seahawks have played well in the second half of the season.

I could see moving the Saints up, as I have no faith in Mitch Trubisky and New Orleans’ should be able to slow David Montgomery down with their stout defensive line.
