How the Titans and Ravens got here
How did the Titans get to the top of the AFC South? On the back of RB Derrick Henry, of course. Henry became the eighth back in NFL history to rush for 2,000 or more yards in a regular season, accounting for an ungodly 33.7% of the team’s offensive yardage and 17 touchdowns. Henry’s rushing dominance made some room in the secondary for stud A.J. Brown and Corey Davis, who posted a career-high 984 receiving yards and 5 TDs. The Titans’ defense has taken a step back in 2020, and with that, they may have a more difficult time containing Lamar Jackson and company in this playoff rematch.
Despite securing a playoff berth for the third consecutive year, the 2020 NFL Season has seemed to be a disappointing one for Baltimore. The team could do no wrong in 2019 with Lamar Jackson’s off-the-charts 9.0% touchdown rate and his physicality as a runner. Though Jackson has come back down to earth statistically, they still managed an 11-4 record to close out the season. The Ravens continue to lead the league in rushing in 2020, with their three-back attack and Jackson under center, an. They finished the season ranked ninth among NFL teams in defense DVOA per Football Outsiders.
The Titans traveled to face Baltimore in the Divisional Round last season, so this rematch has the opportunity to be a statement game for either team.
