There are 11 games on tap in the NBA for Wednesday, January 6th. We’ve got a few primetime televised matchups and a handful of other games that figure to be competitive (or so we think). Of the marquee matchups, the two primetime games are Boston Celtics vs. Miami Heat and Los Angeles Clippers vs. Golden State Warriors. The betting landscape so far this season has been pretty hectic. There have been way more blowouts than we’ve used to seeing this early in an NBA season. As a result, there has been a lot of edge on the spreads, which are generally not getting higher than 10-12 points in certain cases. Let’s take a look at some betting splits for Wednesday night’s games.
Just off the start, looking at the table below, you can see that a ton of the handle on DraftKings Sportsbook is going toward underdogs on the spread. The New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls, Oklahoma City Thunder and Golden State Warriors are just a few teams who are getting points and are getting most of the handle. This could have something to do with injuries and poor performances on the other side of those games. The one favorite who is getting big backing tonight on the spread is the Philadelphia 76ers going up against the Washington Wizards.
We have a few point totals getting a large amount of action on the under, over 90 percent of the action to be more specific. Knicks-Jazz, Kings-Bulls and Dubs-Clips are all getting a heavy majority of the handle on the under. Overall, we’ve seen more games hitting the under than in the NBA bubble. This could be a result of injuries, players sitting out due to health protocols and travel playing a factor again.
