NFC Championship 2020/2021 Odds: Favorites and Sleepers

It’s a new year, which means the NFL Playoffs is about to begin. This year, though, we have a new playoff format that allowed seven teams from each conference to make the tournament. That makes picking Conference Champions just a tad bit more difficult. Let’s pick out some teams that we think could take it all the way to the Super Bowl from the NFC side. Top Pick

The No. 1 seed on both sides of the bracket are obviously the favorites to win their conferences since the new format only gifted a bye to the single best AFC and NFC teams. And while the Green Bay Packers (+140) have the shortest odds in the conference to reach the big game, my favorites are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+400). Maybe I’m conditioned to think that Tom Brady is the ultimate playoff competitor, but how can we doubt the six-time Super Bowl winner? Yes, he’s on a new team in Tampa, but he’s still surrounded by a top-tier defense and his offensive weapons have increased in skill enormously. The Bucs start off their postseason campaign against the only remaining team with a losing record, the Washington Football Team (+4000).

Sleeper

Tom Brady’s most recent Super Bowl victims are also my NFC sleeper. The Los Angeles Rams (+1300) enter the postseason as the No. 6 seed and will face off against their division rivals for a season rubber match in the first round. While the Seattle Seahawks (+600) are the home team and have a much more reliable quarterback in Russell Wilson, the Rams have one of the best defenses in the league that could shut down their opponent’s offense. Jared Goff’s status for Saturday is still up in the air, but Sean McVay has a very intriguing backup in John Wolford to resort to if need be. A Super Bowl run isn’t out of the question, especially for a team that just made that trip two seasons ago.
