The Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster didn’t practice on Thursday with a knee injury, per Adam Caplan. He will need to get at least a limited practice in on Friday to have a shot to play against the Browns on Sunday night. There is no indication that he is close to missing this game, but not much information about his knee injury is known at this time either.
If Smith-Schuster does end up missing this game, we’ll likely see target bumps for Chase Claypool, James Washington and Eric Ebron. Diontae Johnson would continue to be a target hog he already is.
Smith-Schuster has become more of a possession receiver this season as the team has gone to a short passing game, but has still been productive. He’s caught 97 passes for 831 yards and nine touchdowns on the season. That 8.6 yards per reception is awful, but he’d doing what they ask of him this year.
