It’s no secret that the Indianapolis Colts’ offense starts and ends with the ground game. That fact will be on full display on Saturday when they take on the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card round. It also makes both Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines attractive options in fantasy football this weekend.
Fantasy Football analysis: Colts RB Jonathan Taylor ($7,900), Nyheim Hines ($4,700)
Taylor heads into this game with some incredible momentum from his incredible regular-season finale. In a beatdown of the Jaguars, he ran for 253 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries. That was his third game with two rushing scored in his last four outings, and he finished with seven touchdowns in four games.
Hines has been one of the NFL’s most targeted running backs in the passing game, with 63 catches on 76 targets this season. He’s scored four receiving touchdowns but doesn’t usually get more than a few carries on the ground.
Out of all the running backs playing this weekend, Taylor and Hines have the most favorable matchup. The Bills are ranked 23rd against the run. Miami scored two touchdowns on the ground against them in the season finale; the Dolphins’ running backs also put up 145 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Taylor as an RB1 in regular fantasy formats. Hines makes a decent Flex in those leagues too. As for DFS, Taylor is the most expensive running back on the board for Saturday’s games, but he’s probably the surest bet to put up points too. The Colts are going to have to lean on him to help keep Josh Allen and Co. off the field too. Hines makes a sneaky play too because of the matchup, and he’s cheap.
