What to do with Terry McLaurin, Cam Sims in the Wild Card round of the 2021 NFL playoffs

We go over the fantasy football and DFS outlook of Terry McLaurin, Cam Sims ahead of Washington’s Wild Card matchup against the Bucs in the 2021 NFL Playoffs.

Despite an ankle injury that has him officially listed as questionable for Saturday’s Wild Card game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Terry McLaurin is expected to once again push through it and be on the field. Along with his teammate, Cam Sims, the pair could be of some use in fantasy football lineups this week.

Fantasy Football analysis: Washington WRs Terry McLaurin ($6,300), Cam Sims ($3,900)

Playing through his injury last week, McLaurin finished the game with seven catches on eight targets with 40 yards and a touchdown. Sims caught all five for 43 yards in that outing. Both players are consistently getting enough targets to give them fantasy relevance each week. The problem is that their production ceilings are limited by the quarterback situation. Alex Smith is a dink-and-dunk passer on his best days, and now he’s playing with a calf injury. So the targets are there for Sims and Scary Terry, but the yardage numbers have a hard cap.

Still, the Football Team is liable to be passing a lot in this one out of necessity. Tampa Bay is winning games with its offense lately, and the Bucs are favored by more than a touchdown in this one.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Terry McLaurin is a good starting option in any format this week. I like him in DFS play, and he’s definitely one of the better choices if you’re playing games that include only Saturday’s contests. Sims is a decent bet for a third receiver or flex, especially at that price.
